Families Have Fun With Science At The Great Lakes Science Center
When
visiting Cleveland with your family you'll find plenty of attractions to
explore during your visit. One of our favorite attractions is the Great
Lakes Science Center, located next door to the Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame. Of
all the children's museums we've visited, the Great Lakes Science Center is
one of the most interesting we've visited. Every floor is filled with
hands-on activities to explore. Who knew Science could be so exciting?
We learned about the weather, and got an inside glimpse at how the world
around us works. And as we all try to be more environmentally conscious, the
Great Lakes Science Center is leading the way with a 300 foot solar array
canopy at its entrance. The solar panels represent the Great Lakes Science
Center's second advanced energy initiative; the first was the museum's
iconic wind turbine. This is a great example of how we all can make a
difference and raise awareness regarding renewable energy. For families, it
is a great opportunity to discuss the benefits of alternative energy, and
learn more about what each of us can to at home.
Of course, then
there's more fun stuff like the new summer schedule at the Great Lakes
Science Center’s Cleveland Clinic OMNIMAX® Theater. Among the thrilling
films presented at the OMNIMAX® Theater are Superman Returns and Dinosaurs
Alive!, which is a fascinating adventure of science and discovery that
offers a unique look at dinosaurs. Watching a movie at the OMNIMAX® Theater
becomes an adventure its self because you feel like you're part of the
action.
