South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center
Birders, photographers, nature buffs now have more time to enjoy the natural beauty at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center. In January the hours will be extended, which allows natural lovers to catch beautiful birds and many other of natures creatures out and about.
“Birders long have been telling us early mornings bring out the best in birds and birders,” said Executive Director Dr. Michael Womack. “And of course, we want to attract more birders to “America’s Birdiest City’,” he added. Many professional as well as excellent amateur photographers also requested the earlier and later hours, both for best lighting and lighter winds.
The 180-acre South Texas South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, located at 8545 S. Staples St., features 11 major floral exhibits, plus trails, birding overlooks and a boardwalk through vast areas of protected natural wetland and native habitat. There is also a new Bromeliad Conservatory and Butterfly House that is beautiful, which is a popular attraction at the non-profit Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, which is one of Corpus Christi’s major visitor attractions.
